This Week!

 

The Yellowstone Restaurant at 230 W. Bonneville St. is now open!  The dining room is open from 4pm to 10pm Monday through Saturday with Happy Hour each day from 4-6pm in the lounge.  Locally owned and operated with a wonderful menu.  Reservations are encouraged but walk-ins are always welcome.  Please message The Yellowstone Restaurant Facebook page for reservations. Plan now to stop in.  The view is spectacular. 

 

The Future of the Monarch Hotel - The public is invited to a presentation about the future of the Monarch by Tiffani Wilson and Ali Gorny in the gallery of the Bannock County Historical Museum today beginning at 7pm.  The Museum of located at 3000 Ave. of the Chiefs. There will be a very brief Historical Society meeting just before the presentation, and light refreshments will be served. Tell a friend and bring family! Maag Prescription & Medical Supply, 333 W. Center St., now has flu shots available.  No appointment is necessary, just stop in and get your flu shot.  They also offer walk-in vaccinations for pneumonia, T-dap, shingles and typhoid.

 

PV’s Uncorked on Main, 138 N. Main St., will host their monthly Wine Pairing with Terry from TEC this Thursday.  Beginning at 6:30pm, enjoy five courses with five wines.  Reservations are required so please call 208-233-1322 to reserve your table today.

 

The Portneuf Valley Farmers Market is featuring a wide variety of beautiful, fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. Come shop the Farmers Market on Saturday from 9am to 1pm at the Old Town Pavilion.  It doesn’t get any fresher than at our Farmers Market!

 

The First National, 232 W. Center, will host Close to Midnight on Friday night beginning at 10pm and Almost Famous will take the stage on Saturday night also beginning at 10pm.

 

Portneuf Valley Brewing, 615 S. 1st., will host Dance Night on Friday in the Loft beginning at 8:30pm.  Arrive early to enjoy a delicious dinner before dancing.

Haunted History Walking Tour Tickets Now Available!  Our favorite paranormal investigators are back! SPIRO Paranormal and Old Town Pocatello are pleased to present the 10th Annual Haunted History Walking Tours. Visit five haunted buildings in Old Town Pocatello, not just walk by them, but go inside to learn more about the history of the building and experience for yourself any haunted activity. Tour Dates include: October 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27. Friday evening tours will begin at 7pm.  Saturday evening tours will begin at 6pm.  Adult Tickets $20, Young Adult Tickets (ages 8-14) $15VIP Tours on October 27 include the regular tour plus a private investigation with SPIRO immediately following. Welcome Fall with Old Town’s Downtown Days Great Pumpkin Festival! This two day celebration is a wonderful way to prepare for the coming holidays. During First Friday Art Walk on October 5, we will host a pumpkin carving and decorating contest. Pumpkins will be on display throughout Old Town, and you can vote for your favorites. There will be prizes in several categories and age groups, please visit www.oldtownpocatello.com for further details and be sure to buy your pumpkin at the Farmers Market the week before.   On Saturday October 6, the Portneuf Valley Farmers Market will host their Harvest Fest including a pie baking contest.  There will be face painting, petting zoo, music, food and a variety of new vendors along Main Street! 

 

Idaho’s Antique Row invites you to participate in its Fall Poker Run on Saturday, October 13. Between 11am and 4 pm, collect one card per family from each of the 5 participating Antique Row members: Her Alibi Antiques at 211 S. 4th, Kanda’s & Co at 410 S. Main (inside the Elks Club), Old Town Mercantile at 134 N. Main, Vain & Vintage at 149 N. Main and The Elwen Cottage at 334 N. Main. When you’ve collected all 5 cards, turn in your hand at one of the Antique Row Stores. Winners will be announced on Monday, October 15. High Hand will receive a $50 Gift Certificate to spend at any Antique Row store and a Pair of Tickets for the Haunted History Walking Tour in Old Town Pocatello. Low Hand will receive a $25 Gift Certificate to spend at any Antique Row store and a $ 20 Gift Certificate  to Swore Farms. *Must be 18 or older to collect cards.

 

The Friends of the Marshall Public Library invite the public to their 2018 Fall Used Book Sale to be held Thursday through Saturday, October 11-13. The sale will be held in the Marshall Library, 113 S. Garfield.  A wide variety of soft and hardcover books as well as videos and CDs will be available for purchase.  Paperback items will be sold for $1.00 each and hardbacks for $2.00.  However, all remaining stock will be reduced 50% on Saturday morning!  Hours for the sale are:  Thursday October 11- 9am to 9pm, Friday October 12- 9am to 6 pm and Saturday October 13 - 9am to 4pm.

October First  

Friday Art Walk      October 5!   

Old Town will be alive with crowds on October 5, as we host the October First Friday Art Walk. Don't miss this opportunity to view and experience art by local artists as well as regional and national artists. The walk includes over twenty businesses, restaurants and galleries, some with art on display, some with the artist on hand and some providing a live demonstration. Refreshments are always available. You may also find live music along the way. All local residents and visitors are welcome. There is no charge to attend monthly Art Walks.
