This Week in Old Town Pocatello!
Thank you to Pocatello High School students and teachers for working in Old Town Pocatello during their annual Day of Service. On Friday, students and teachers cleaned, swept and painted throughout the area. It was wonderful to see all the work that was done. We are very grateful to have the high school in our neighborhood!
This Week in the historic heart of Pocatello!
Pocatello’s only 5K obstacle race is coming to Old Town on Saturday as Remax Country and Guild Mortgage present the 6th Annual Urban Invasion Obstacle Challenge. There is still time to register to compete, just go to www.pokyurbaninvasion.com by Wednesday. Spectators are welcome!
On Thursday evening at The Elwen Cottage, 334 N. Main, come learn how to paint furniture with Dixie Belle Paint. Bring a piece you can carry and they will show you how to bring new life to an older piece. Cost is $35 and all supplies are provided. Call the shop at 208-380-5561 to register.
Villano’s Italian, 165 N. Main St., is open from 11am to 9pm Monday thru Friday and Noon to 9pm on Saturdays. Don’t miss their $5.00 large cheese and pepperoni pizzas everyday from open until 6pm.
The Pocatello Co-op, 308 E. Center, will be hosting their monthly wine tasting event on Saturday. This month’s tasting will feature wines from Powers Winery from Kennewick Washington, a sustainable winery. Event begins at 5pm and the Farm Table Café will be open, too. Call 208-904-1368 for additional information. Be sure to have your ID, 21 and older only please.
The Grecian Key Restaurant, 314 N. Main St., features their delicious gyros every Tuesday and Thursday, for lunch or dinner, just $5.50 each.
The First National, 232 W. Center, will host Jake Kratochvil and Evan Norman live on stage on Friday beginning at 10pm. KIN will take the stage on Saturday night with that show beginning at 9:30pm.
Portneuf Valley Brewing will feature KIN live in The Loft on Friday evening and Red Hill Junction Jazz Ensemble on Saturday evening. Both shows start at 9pm with no cover. Be sure to arrive early to enjoy a delicious dinner and great brews.
Family Services Alliance will be presenting two nights of “The Vagina Monologues” at the Pocatello Elks Lodge on Friday and Saturday. Performances begin at 7:30pm. Tickets are available at Family Services Alliance, 355 S. Arthur, for $15.00. Tickets will also be available at the door.
On Sunday, The Office Bar & Grill will be the place to be from 1-4pm as they host a fundraiser for Jerry Robinson. Come out to see all of the remodeling that’s been done and catch up with old friends. For more information please contact Debbie Green at 208-242-6376.
The May First Friday Art Walk will be held in locations throughout Old Town Pocatello on Friday, May 4. The festivities will begin at 5pm and will include local and regional art, live music, food, wine tasting and more. Plan now to come stroll through Old Town and enjoy the charm of our monthly Art Walk!
The Portneuf Valley Farmers Market will open for the 2018 season on Saturday, May 5! The Market will open at 9am and will feature bedding plants, hanging flower baskets, fresh produce, locally made art, crafts, jewelry, and more until 1pm. The Farmers Market will be open every Saturday from 9am to 1pm at the Old Town Pavilion, 420 N. Main St.
Join Portneuf Valley Bike To Work, Bannock Planning & Transportation, Pocatello Police Department, College Neighborhood Association & Old Town Pocatello for the Annual Bike Parade & BBQ. On Friday, May 18, bring your kids and your bikes to the Old Town Pavilion for information booths, bike rodeo, BBQ and bike parade. Barrie's Ski and Sports and East Fork Bikes will be present to conduct free visual inspections and teach you more about bike safety. Festivities begin at 6pm and the parade will begin at 6:30pm.
Bannock Civitans will kick off the Revive @ 5 Summer Concerts on Wednesday, May 23. Live music will begin at 5pm featuring The Voltz. ISU Credit Union is that week’s sponsor and they will be hosting Educator’s Night. PV’s Uncorked on Main will be the featured restaurant with delicious food. Mark your calendars now and plan to come out for great music, food, cold beverages, ice cream, and more at the Old Town Pavilion.

Friday Art Walk May 4!
Old Town will be alive with crowds on May 4, as we host the May First Friday Art Walk. Don't miss this opportunity to view and experience art by local artists as well as regional and national artists. The walk includes over twenty businesses, restaurants and galleries, some with art on display, some with the artist on hand and some providing a live demonstration. Refreshments are always available. You may also find live music along the way. All local residents and visitors are welcome. There is no charge to attend monthly Art Walks.

The Portneuf Valley Farmers Market will open for the 2018 season at 9am. Enjoy local, fresh produce and more every Saturday from 9am to 1pm at the Old Town Pavilion! And, every Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm May 23 through August 29 in conjunction with the Revive @ 5 Summer Concerts!
