First Friday Art Walk

First Friday of Each Month

Old Town is alive with crowds of visitors on the first Friday of each month from 5-8pm.  Don't miss this opportunity to view and experience art by local artists as well as regional and national artists. The walk includes over twenty businesses, restaurants and galleries, some with art on display, some with the artist on hand and some providing a live demonstration. Refreshments are always available. You may also find live music along the way. All local residents and visitors are welcome. There is no charge to attend monthly Art Walks. The Portneuf Valley Farmers Market will open for another season on Saturday, May 3.  The Market will be open every Saturday from 9am to 1pm through the end of October.  If you are interested in becoming a vendor at the market, please contact the Market Manager at 208-705-7333.

Haunted History Walking Tour tickets are now available.  Tours begin on October 11th and continue on October 17, 18, 24 and 25th.  SPIRO, our favorite paranormal investigators, will be back again to host the 2014 Haunted History Walking Tours. This year we will feature four haunted buildings on the east side of Old Town.  With our tours you actually go into the buildings or areas and experience first hand the history and the haunts. Tickets are on sale at the Old Town office, 420 N. Main Street. Adult tickets are $20 and child tickets for ages 8-15 years old are $15.  Call 208-232-7545 for more information or to reserve your tickets.

The Old Town Pocatello, Inc. Board of Directors invite you to attend the 2014 Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony.  Registration will begin at 5:30pm and the business meeting will begin at 6:00pm.  The annual awards will be presented and the Board of Directors for 2014-2015 will be announced.  The public is welcome and refreshments will be served.

Night of 1,000 Santas Festival & Night Lights Parade

Get Your Santa Hat! Help fill the streets of Old Town with Santas! Beginning November 7th visit MUSE Boutique at 501 N. Main Street for a Santa Hat to take home and decorate. 1,000 hats will be given to the young and old alike! You don’t have to decorate the hat, but there are great prizes to win at the Santa Hat Contest right after this year’s Night Lights Parade. *Quantities are limited.

 

Santa Arrives! On November 28th, the festivities begin at 4:00pm all the way through 9:00pm. At 4:00pm Santa will arrive at the Old Town Pavilion aboard the Holiday Helicopter. You are cordially invited to come watch Santa land and he will visit with young children until 6:00pm when he will depart for the Parade. During Santa’s visit there will be music, food and more all under the Pavilion. The Talking Christmas Tree will be back this year and Frosty is expected to make a guest appearance as well. Don’t forget your cameras!

 

Night Lights Parade Begins! At 6:30pm the Night Lights Parade will wind its way through Old Town. This is Southeast Idaho’s largest night lights parade and of course the theme this year is "Night of 1,000 Santas." Parade organizers are encouraging all who come out for the parade to wear your Santa Hat so the entire parade route is lined with Santa Hats!


Santa Hat Contest!  This year the Santa Hat Contest will take place right after the parade, at approximately 7:30pm at the Old Town Pavilion.  Juding will take place in each category and prizes will be awarded. Categories include, Best Child's Hat, Best Women's Hat, Best Men's Hat, Best Family Hats Award Best Commercial Award and Best Pet's Santa Hat.

 

Santa Sock-Hop! Live music with a band on stage will entertain all after the Santa Hat Contest.  Santa will be dancing too!  Plan to stay for hot cocoa, hot cookies and lively entertainment.

The Saturday between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is Small Business Saturday.  Shop Small All Day Long!  Why should you shop, dine and play in Old Town?  Because our collection of specialty shops, restaurants, art galleries, bars, pubs, studios, schools and professional offices (all 228 of them) are all owned by small business people who live right here.  They offer a wonderful variety of inventories, foods and services and they support our local community.  They hire local and they buy local too.  Shop Small and Shop in Old Town.  Locals love locals!

ISU Credit Union presents Idaho Bridal Fair 2015 on Saturday, February 21, 2015.  Beginning at 10am, the Red Lion Hotel Pocatello will showcase everything a bride and groom needs to plan the perfect wedding, honeymoon and future.  From florists to jewelers, and from caterers to entertainment, local busineses will display their products and services designed to help orchestrate the day you will treasure forever.

The 5th Annual Gate City Brewfest will be returning to Old Town Pocatello on Saturday, March 14.  Our favorite brewers will be returning along with some new selections for sampling. Of course, there will be live music, great food and fun along the way.  Free trolley service will also be available.  Mark your calendars and don't miss this day long beer stroll!  Tickets will be available beginning in December.

Pocatello's only 5K obstacle race will be returning to Old Town Pocatello on Saturday, April 25th.  Plan now to compete as SEICAA and Old Town Pocatello host this four person team race.  Grab your three most adventure seeking buddies and register your team to compete your way through Old Town.  Along the course you'll encounter 20 crazy obstacles built by local businesses and organizations.  Test your mettle against other invasive runners and win great prizes and bragging rights.  Registration will open in December 2014.

Hosted by the Bannock Civitan Club, Revive @ 5 is the place to be on Wednesday nights during the summer.  The event features a live band each week, a different featured restaurant each week, cold beverages, the Wednesday Farmers Market and fun for the entire family.

Benefit Concert for Monarch Residents on Friday!  A benefit concert will be held at The Rubicon Lounge inside the Ramada Inn in Chubbuck on Friday. All proceeds from the evening will go to the displaced families from The Monarch fire.  Tickets are $10 for general admission and can be purchased in advance at Main Street Music, 401 N. Main Street.

Portneuf Valley Farmers Market Now Open!  Pocatello's premier Farmers Market is now open for the 2014 season.  The Market will be open every Saturday from 9am-1pm thru October 25th.  The Wednesday Market is now open on Wednesdays from 4-8pm, through September 3.
