Advocates

It takes a village to raise a downtown!  Advocates of Old Town Pocatello are our friends, neighbors, business owners, guests at events and concerts, all who come to Old Town and contribute to our success.  Whether it be through shopping, purchasing tickets, buying a cold beverage, participating in a raffle or just simply taking a walk through Old Town on a spring afternoon, Old Town would not be the active, vibrant part of our community that it is today without you. 

Funders

Many of the projects you see throughout Old Town are a result of grant funding from local foundations, families and benefactors.  Many thanks to:

 

Spaulding Foundation - on going financial support that funds benches, trash cans, hanging flower baskets, street banners, holiday decorations, landscape improvements throughout Old Town and the development of the Old Town Pavilion.

 

Ifft Foundation Fund - in the Idaho Community Foundation - funding projects including:

Landscape improvements at the Pocatello High School Parking Lot

Development and landscaping at Dudunake Park

Landscape improvement along North Union Pacific Avenue

Landscape improvement and development of Leadership Pocatello Park

Street banners for the East side of Old Town, coming in Spring 2014

 

Bistline Foundation Fund - in the Idaho Community Foundation - has provided funding for public art repair and refurbishing in the Old Town area. A total of seven pieces will have received care and maintenance by the end of this summer.  The Bistline Foundation recently provided partial funding for the creation and installation of "Happy Go Lucky's" the newest piece of public art in Old Town.  Artist Ron Lewis unveiled the piece at the Old Town Pavilion on May 28, 2014.  Many thanks to the Bistline Foundation, the advisors and the Idaho Community Foundation. 

 

Dorsey Hill Family - our very own "Fairy Godmother!"  Dorsey has been instrumental in the development of: the Pocatello-Chubbuck Chamber of Commerce office remaining in Old Town, trees, power and landscaping at Dudunake Park, purchase of the Old Town Office & Pavilion, landscape improvements at the Pocatello High School Parking Lot and most recently, the lighting of the Historic Chief Theater neon sign.

 

Bannock Civitan Club - our Civitans have donated funding for the roof of the Odl Town Pavilon, continued maintenance of the Pavilion each year, assisted with building the restroom and storage building and purchased trash cans along Union Pacific Avenue.

 

Pocatello Arts Council - ongoing support of public art projects in Old Town including the installation of "Passages of Time" at Dudunake Park, the literary pavers throughout Old Town and "Happy Go Lucky's" at the Old Town Pavilion.

 

Leadership Pocatello - funding the sprinkler system at the Pocatello High School parking lot, the development of Simplot Square and Leadership Pocatello Park.

Revive @ 5 Summer Concerts Every Wednesday All Summer!

The Bannock Civitan Club hosts the weekly Wedneday night concerts from 5-8pm at the Old Town Pavilion.  Admission is free and all are welcome.   Click here to see this year's line up!

 

Portneuf Valley Farmers Market Open Saturdays 9am to 1pm!  The Market will be open on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm through the end of October. 

 

July First Friday Art Walk, July 7!   Old Town will be alive with crowds this Friday as we host the July First Friday Art Walk.  Don't miss this opportunity to view and experience art by local artists as well as regional and national artists. The walk includes over twenty businesses, restaurants and galleries, some with art on display, some with the artist on hand and some providing a live demonstration. Refreshments are always available. You may also find live music along the way. All local residents and visitors are welcome. There is no charge to attend monthly Art Walks.
