Back by popular demand, the Old Town Jazz Festival will expand to a two day event in 2009. Join us Friday August 7th, as we host a clinic for up and coming musicians, and old timers too, that would like the opportunity to sit in with a Big Band. Not a musician but live to dance? If you've always wanted to learn the Tango or Rumba, dance instructors will be on hand at specific locations to teach you the steps. Then Friday evening during the First Friday Art Walk our local artists and visiting bands will perform live in the parks and public spaces throughout Old Town. If you missed the dance instructors during the day, they will be at the Pavilion offering continued instruction through the evening.
On Saturday morning stop by one of our local restaurants for a "Taste of Jazz Brunch." Spend the early afternoon shopping in Old Town and at the Southeast Idaho Farmers Market. At 2:00pm six bands will take center stage at the Pavilion to delight the crowd. This ticketed event will include a picnic style dinner with fine meats, cheeses and dried fruits as well as wine and beer tastings from around the world and special raffles and drawings.
Tickets will also be available on April 1. We expect hundreds of visitors for this two day event so be sure to reserve your tickets now.
